
In Doom, since you have "infinite" nades, there's nothing to keep them on your mind, and with assets like the Rocket Launcher and 12 ga. When I play a game like Halo I keep a strong mental tally of how many nade's I've got, where I can find more, and thus whether or not it's a good time to throw one. Plus honestly, the use of an RPG cooldown instead of proper ammo count as the limiting factor for grenades just felt wrong. I use grenades more often in Brutal Doom, and BD is a mod which I played countless hours of before grenades were added in a later update. TBH the equipment felt flimsy and tacked-on rather than a well-integrated part of the game.
